The ECS is a complex cell-signalling system identified in 1992 by Dr Raphael Mechoulam, who was a professor of medicinal chemistry and natural products at Hebrew University in Jerusalem, Israel. They discovered that the ECS plays a fundamental role in regulating every physiological system in our body, and the functions and processes of all these systems. The ECS system is found all over the body; in the brain, organs, glands, connective tissue & immune cells. When you take CBD oil, some can be lost in the digestive process. In the liver, the CBD is broken down into hundreds of metabolites. Many are not used by the body and expelled. While swallowing the oil poses no threat and will still be effective, taking the oil sublingually (under your tongue), allows for maximum and rapid absorption into your bloodstream. When you swallow it immediately, CBD still reach the bloodstream after digestion, but it’s absorbed much more slowly and some of its effectiveness may be lost through the gastric walls in the stomach.

That’s why we recommend holding the drops under your tongue for at least 30 seconds to ensure you get maximum effectiveness
